Editorial Standards
Last updated: April 1, 2026
Transparency about how we create content is important to us. This page explains our editorial process, our use of AI tools, how we research products, and how to report errors.
How We Create Content
CordCutterPro publishes guides, reviews, comparisons, and deal coverage for the streaming and cord-cutting market. Our content is created using the following process:
- Topic and keyword research — We identify topics based on common reader questions, search demand, and the streaming landscape (new device launches, service changes, pricing updates).
- AI-assisted drafting — We use AI language model tools to draft article content. AI synthesizes information from publicly available sources including manufacturer specifications, official product pages, press releases, and published reviews.
- Editorial review — AI-drafted content is reviewed for accuracy, relevance, and readability before publication. We check key facts such as prices, specifications, and compatibility details against current manufacturer or retailer listings.
- Publication and updates — Content is published with a date and updated when significant product changes occur (price changes, new firmware, service shutdowns).
Use of AI Tools
We are transparent that AI tools play a central role in content creation at CordCutterPro. This is consistent with our disclosure on every article. Specifically:
- What AI does: Drafts article text, summarizes product specifications, structures comparison tables, and identifies key talking points from publicly available data.
- What AI does not do:AI does not physically test or handle products. AI-generated statements about product “feel,” “experience,” or “performance in our testing” should not be interpreted as first-person human testing claims unless explicitly noted.
- Knowledge limitations: AI models have training knowledge cutoff dates and may not reflect the most recent product updates, pricing, or service changes. We attempt to verify key facts before publication, but readers should always confirm current details with the retailer or manufacturer.
This approach aligns with FTC guidance on AI-generated content disclosure (2023 Endorsement Guides) and Amazon Associates program policies.
Affiliate Relationships and Editorial Independence
Some articles contain affiliate links to Amazon, NordVPN, Surfshark, and other partners. We earn commissions when readers purchase through these links at no extra cost to the reader.
Our affiliate relationships do not determine which products we cover, which products we recommend, or the tone of our coverage. We cover products we believe are genuinely useful to cord-cutters, regardless of whether an affiliate program exists for that product.
See our Affiliate Disclosure for the complete list of affiliate programs we participate in.
Accuracy and Sources
We rely on the following types of sources:
- Official manufacturer product pages and press releases
- Amazon, Best Buy, and major retailer listings for pricing and specs
- Streaming service official help centers and pricing pages
- Published technical reviews from established technology outlets
- FCC filings for technical device specifications where applicable
We do not fabricate specifications, invent benchmark results, or misrepresent third-party findings. If we cite a comparison or claim a product ranks “best,” that ranking reflects AI-assisted synthesis of publicly available data at the time of writing, not independent lab testing.
Corrections and Error Reporting
We are committed to correcting factual errors promptly. If you find an error — incorrect specification, outdated pricing, inaccurate comparison, or any other factual mistake — please contact us with:
- The article title or URL
- The specific claim you believe is incorrect
- A source or reference for the correct information
We will review and correct confirmed errors within a reasonable timeframe and note the correction at the bottom of the affected article.
